Hi! I’m Kayla. I like to plan and organize, and I've been doing so since childhood. I was the kid who kept a travel journal for vacations and rearranged my bedroom every few months. I love logistics and seeing how pieces fit together. I have over eleven years experience in event management and planning, and I have planned everything from board meetings to university-wide events to summer camps for 300 middle and high schoolers. But weddings are my true passion.

Most little girls dream of being a bride and what their wedding will look like. I was no different, but what I really wanted to be was a bridesmaid. I never understood the exasperated sigh that went with the statement: “Always a bridesmaid, never a bride.” When my turn to be a bridesmaid finally came, I quickly realized how much work and planning goes into bringing the perfect vision to life.

For years, I thought about starting my own business, but the timing was never right. It wasn’t until the world shut down with the pandemic that I had time to think through what I wanted and how to actually make it happen. After a few serendipitous conversations, much research, time in prayer, and invaluable help from friends who run their own businesses, everything finally fell into place. Kayla Ketner Event Planning & Coordination was born.

When I'm not running through a timeline or checking off a to-do list, you can probably find me with a book in hand, scribbling in a notebook, or watching a movie. I also love to swim, wander through the woods, climb mountains, and travel when I have the opportunity.
